Led by Spencer Hardy a conservation biologist with the Vermont Center for Ecostudies and an insect expert. In recent years. Spencer, has traversed the state chasing bees and other insects, working on a better understanding of the status of these incredible insects in Vermont, including milkweed specialist insects, adding to the data in the Vermont Atlas of Life.
Spencer grew up exploring the rivers and hills of eastern Vermont, fascinated by the seemingly endless biodiversity in this small state. For three decades, he has been exploring the state, studying everything from fish in Lewis Creek to birds on Mt. Mansfield. Since 2019 he has been chasing bees for the Vermont Center for Ecostudies, though now he splits his time with The Farm Upstream in Jericho, where he runs a native plant nursery focused on bee-friendly trees and shrubs.
