Annette Kalinoski and Sally Laughlin led a birdwalk on the Preserve on Saturday 1 June 2024, on a morning that started out cold (low 40’s) but warmed to very pleasant by midmorning. We located 24 species of birds and 82 individuals, including six species of warblers (Ovenbird, Pine Warbler, Common Yellowthroat, Chestnut- sided Warbler, and Blackburnian) and had wonderful views of an Indigo Bunting singing from tree-top and of a Hermit Thrush feeding on the forest floor. Annette compiled the complete list and posted it on iNaturalist (https://ebird.org/checklist/S178986945), including our observation of a Tufted Titmouse carrying food for young, a confirmed breeding code.
