In February wildlife expert tracker and Vermont Master Naturalist Sophie Mazowita led twenty people in the preserve on a tracking (and finding signs of animals) walk. We walked into the forest and learned about animal gaits and figured out which direction the animal was moving by the distance of the feet in the snow. We found more tracks and learned about the placement of their feet showing how fast they were moving in the meadow. The morning was busy discovering other tracks and deer beds in the woods.
